The stars of Loose Women sarcastically address their rejection at the NTAs, telling the audience, “Don’t be upset – we didn’t buy an award, so we didn’t get one!”

Loose Women panelists had a hard time hiding their bitterness as they practiced their ‘loser faces’ after they were snubbed at the National Television Awards.

During Thursday’s installment, Kaye Adams, Denise Welch, Kelle Bryan and Sunetra Sarker could not hide their disappointment over losing out on another NTA award for the 13th year.

The show was shortlisted for a gong in the Daytime TV category, but it lost out to ITV’s The Chase.

Opening their 25th birthday episode, Kaye said: ‘So last night, my goodness, what a night it was.’

She then explained that Stacey Solomon who was the first of the night to win an award – for the Factual Entertainment category.

Kaye then bitterly confessed: ‘Meanwhile Denise and I were sitting next to each other practicing our loser faces’.

She then told Denise she was ‘particularly good’ at hers before the mother to Matty Healy confessed she had ‘given up’.

‘I have given up after so many years of it’, she admitted.

Denise then demonstrated her ‘well practiced losing face’ as she faked a smile and clapped her hands to the side of her face.

Laughing away at her act, Kaye added: ‘We did win once, when did we win?’

Denise confirmed that they last won a NTA gong in 2010.

Sunetra then quipped: ‘After 25 years there is no one that can compete with this show…’ before she was drowned out by the sea of applause by her fellow panelists.

Wednesday night saw Ant and Dec awarded the Best Presenter honour for a record 23rd time as they led the big winners at the 2024 National Television Awards at London’s O2 Arena.

While Ant and Dec continued their record-breaking winning streak, it was Mr Bates Vs The Post Office who were the big champions of the night, with three prizes.

Toby Jones was awarded the prize for Serial Drama Performance for his critically-acclaimed performance in the series.

Despite a year plagued with scandals and controversy, Strictly Come Dancing scooped the prize for Talent Show at the National Television Awards on Wednesday night.

Amid fears for the show’s future over accusations of abuse aimed at professional dancers Giovanni Pernice and Graziano Di Prima, the BBC show beat out Britain’s Got Talent, The Great British Bake Off, Masterchef and The Voice to take one of the night’s big prizes.

The NTAs are voted for by the public, with the win for Strictly a clear sign that viewers are still rooting for the show as it prepares to return for its 20th series on Saturday night.

Elsewhere, This Morning suffered a shock loss, with the ITV1 show missing out on the coveted Daytime prize to fan-favourite The Chase.

It came after a challenging year for the show, which saw Holly Willoughby depart in October, before being replaced by Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard.

The Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Awards was given to I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! for the fifth time.

Davina McCall fought back tears as she was awarded the Special Recognition Prize by her longtime friend Hannah Waddingham.

Kate Garraway also made an emotional appearance on the stage, as she was awarded the Authored Documentary prize for her programme Kate Garraway: Derek’s Story – a film about her late husband’s battle with Covid.

The night was brought to a close with Emmerdale winning the prize for Serial Drama.
